August xxxx- SheShe arrived in March xxxx after a rescue effort that involved having to humanely trap her feral mother and grandmother, the rest of her littermates AND another litter of puppies (both adult females had had litters just a week apart). All of the pups went to rescues, but SheShe was very timid so we kept her here. She has been in very good health at 12.5 years of age until recently. She's been a picky eater for some time but really wasn't eating much the past couple weeks. On August 21st she saw the vet and had lost 4 lbs. since May when she had a dental done. On the 21st she was diagnosed with pneumonia! She hadn't coughed once and had no typical symptoms- my concern was the weight loss. The vet said her lungs sounded very harsh, plus they did x-rays that showed lots of little lesions in the lungs, and her right lung was worse, temp 103.1. Also, her bloodwork was not the greatest: the serum was tinged yellow so the vet is concerned about liver issues. UPDATE August 28th: Back to the vet for a follow-up visit. Right lung is better but we're adding the antibiotic Baytril to the other antibiotic, Clavamox, that she's been on for a week. No coughing or panting but temp was 103.7. She did take her pills when we got back, thanks to some cat food pate! :) She is available only as a sponsor dog, and with the recent charges for veterinary care, we can use the help!
